Toshiba affirms position as power & energy industry leader

Toshiba Plant Systems & Services Corporation has continued to evolve and adapt its product offerings since its inception in 1938, maintaining its position as a market leader.

Having an active footprint in Africa, Toshiba continues to drive the renewables and thermal power sector. In an exclusive interview, Mr. Echigoya gives insight into the company’s history and future developments.

With the global population set to increase by 2 billion by the year 2050, Echigoya underlines the importance of having a sustainable base load power.

He is of the opinion that a mix of gas and hydro as the base load, topped with a renewables mix is the optimal energy mix.

Watch the full video interview below, where Echigoya expresses his views on a variety of areas across the value chain and how the traditional utility is evolving.
