Temporary power of 20 MW for Chad

In late October 2013, Chad national electricity utility Société Nationale d’Electricité (SNE) signed a contract with Aggreko for the latter to deliver a 20 MW temporary power package. It is fuelled using locally sourced heavy fuel oil and will help alleviate power shortages affecting the country.

The installation will bring additional capacity to the local grid and will ensure that a more robust and reliable power supply is delivered to the capital N’Djamena to help keep business and industry up and running and keep the lights on in the city.

“The Aggreko power plant will give us the opportunity and time we need to deal with the power supply issues affecting N’Djamena,” Djerassem Le Bemadjiel, Chad’s minister of energy, says.
