22 July 2009 – A nuclear consortium have decided to set up a ‘European Nuclear Energy Leadership Academy’ to provide theoretical and practical-based nuclear management education. The consortium consists of Areva, EnBW, NOK, Urenco, Vattenfall and E.ON.
The aim of the academy is to train post-graduates and high potential employees with different backgrounds to become leaders in European nuclear corporations and institutions.
The nuclear management programme on offer will be based on a theoretical and practical approaches. It will focus on specific European requirements and specifications (e.g. economics, politics, technology, legislation, safety standards, certifications etc).
The academy will bring together members of the international nuclear community, including employers, prospective employees as well as political and social opinion leaders.
The next stage will be the establishment of a legally-binding multi-party agreement which will focus on the strategic, legal and financial aspects of the project.
