Nairobi, Kenya — ESI-AFRICA.COM — 24 May 2011 – The government of Kenya “’ East Africa’s biggest economy “’ is planning to build what it calls “an “emergency thermal power plant” of 60MW near the country’s capital.

The new plant will be overseen by Kenya Electricity Generating Company “’ the nation’s biggest electricity producer “’ according to an advertisement in the Nairobi-based Daily Nation newspaper.

Companies interested in bidding for the project “’ which will be located in Muhoroni, 220km west of Nairobi “’ have until 23 June to submit bids, according to the advertisement.
