National Energy Bill 2008

25 June 2008 – The South African government will publish the National Energy Bill on 19th June. The bill provides for the establishment of a National Energy Modelling and Information Agency and a National Energy Development Institute. These agencies will fall within the framework of the Central Energy Fund (CEF)

ParliamentThe aim is that these two agencies will gather information, analyse it and produce an Integrated Energy Plan with a 25 year lifespan for South Africa.

Draft Regulation for comments in terms of the Nuclear Energy Act

In addition, the Ministry of Mines and Energy has published draft regulation "on the declaration of certain substances, materials and equipment as restricted material, source material, special nuclear material and nuclear related equipment and material."
