Mutundwe power plant

The Electricity Regulatory Authority, under Section 33 of the Electricity Act 1999, Cap. 145, received a License Application from Aggreko International Projects Limited for the generation and sale of electricity.

Aggreko International Projects Limited intends to Build, Own and Operate (BOO) a 50MW diesel-based power plant in Mutundwe and sell this power to the National Grid.

The Government of Uganda, through open bidding, competitively procured this Company to implement this World Bank supported emergency power supply to alleviate the current electricity supply crisis.

Under Section 35 of the Electricity Act 1999, Cap 145, the Electricity Regulatory Authority hereby invites directly affected parties and local authorities in the areas affected by the project to make comments and lodge objections (if any) on the notice to the Authority within thirty (30) days.
