Morocco to invest US$11 billion in renewable energy

Heidelberg, Germany — ESI-AFRICA.COM — 23 May 2011 – By 2020, the Moroccan Government will invest US$11 billion in renewable energy.

Against this backdrop the National Federation of Electricity & Electronics, Fenelec, in close cooperation with the trade fair specialists Fairtrade from Heidelberg, is organising the exhibition EneR Event for the first time. The International Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Trade Fair is scheduled for 22 to 26 November 2011 at the International Fairgrounds of Casablanca, Morocco.

As the first Arab country, Morocco has presented a budget for the promotion of renewable energies and energy efficiency to the council of ministers. In addition, renewable energies related to total energy consumption, energy efficiency in public buildings, in industry and in public transport will be improved.

EneR Event and Elec expo 2011 enjoy the official support of the Moroccan Ministries of Energy and Mines, Water and Environment, Industry, Trade and New Technologies and of the Ministry of Foreign Trade.
