Last week, representatives of the Libyan and Egyptian Governments met to discussion cooperation in the electricity sector.

The Secretary of the General People’s committee for Electricity, Water and Gas held  They were accompanies by a number of industry specialists from both countries, as well as the head of the liaison office of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Libya.
 
During the session, the important of cooperation and technical integration between the two countries was emphasised and Egyptian companies were invited consider getting involved in building power stations and transmission lines in Libya, which would in turn contribute to the Egyptian electrical manufacturing sector.

Joint projects already in progress have a capacity of some 800MW.
