2 July 2013 – A manufacturer of power electronic systems for industrial power supplies and renewable energy has launched a central solar inverter for utility-scale applications on ground area installations in harsh outdoor environments. The new 880 kVA solar inverter from AEG supports up to 1,300 kWp. Its integrated power stack PV core enables an input DC voltage of up to 1,000 V and peak efficiencies of 98.7%.
Designed for harsh outdoor applications, the new inverter supports an operating temperature range of -20°C to +50°C, while the weight of 1,850 kg and dimensions of 2,200 x 2,250 x 800 mm raise the ease of transport and installation.
AEG PS’ line of compact outdoor units for PV power stations supports between 500 kWp and 1300 kWp. The cooling system provides optimal air circulation within the inverter. The enclosure of double-walled aluminium with a stainless steel plinth meets the IP54 standard and can easily be mounted on concrete foundations. Designed for global use, the Protect PV outdoor systems fulfill all requirements in compliance with relevant national standards and guidelines.
The Protect PV.880 design can be integrated in the turnkey container solution TKS-C 1600, enabling a total nominal AC output of 1,600 kVA and connecting to a DC generation capacity of up to 2,600 kWp.
