22 April 2008 – As part of Eskom Enterprises’ vision to build a power base for sustainable growth and development, and of which safety, health and environment plays a vital role, IRCA Global has been awarded a contract to develop and implement a SHEQ Management System.
The system, which will be customised to suite Eskom Enterprises’ specific environment, will be aligned with ISO 14001 and OHSA 18001:2007 to ensure international best practices.
Furthermore, IRCA Global has been tasked to look at a sustainable health and safety awareness programme, to facilitate safe working practices both internally as well as externally.
The contract was signed on 10 March 2008 and will stretch over a period of three years, until 2011. In this time, and by means of a programme called CAP, IRCA Global will identify GAP’s in Eskom Enterprises’ current system and recommend actions to address this. Risks will also be identified and rated.
