To measure average annual wind speeds, wind masts are erected with anemometers placed at various heights. Wind data management software is then used to gather the information and store it in a data logger. This software is then used to retrieve the information from the logger and import it to the database, where it is then analyzed and validated. For potential wind power plant sites, anemometers must be set at wind turbine hub heights and there must be a minimum of one year of data collected to project the site’s average annual wind power production.
