French to invest in South African wind farm

29 February 2008 – The French Development Agency, AFD, plans to invest €100 million in a wind farm in South Africa, it was revealed this week.

"We shall sign tomorrow a finance agreement with Eskom (for an) about €100-million loan for an investment in a windmill factory," said Jean-Michel Severino, CEO of the French Development Agency.

The wind farm, with an installed capacity of 100MW, will provide power to Cape Town.
