18 March 2008 – The government of Mozambique and the European Commission signed deals with a total value of 9.43 million Euros last week.

Alignment powerlinesOf that amount, a total of 1.42 million Euros will come from the World Bank and European Commission for an energy planning and management programme.

The aim of the programme is to provide technical support for the ministry of energy with regards to the use of vegetable oil and fossil fuels in Maputo, Beira, Nampula and Quelimane. The funds will also be used to improve access to energy sources in the countryside.
