Eskom has confirmed its commitment to the African power sector and to improving communication to the industry by endorsing Africa’s leading power journal, ESI Africa.
ESI Africa is the leading print and web portal, delivering news and information and connecting industry leaders in the power sector in Africa. ESI Africa’s offering includes highly skilled research and consulting resources specialising in Africa’s electricity supply industry and innovative marketing solutions to its vendors and suppliers.
ESI Africa also hosts the largest utility event, namely African Utility Week, which unites 2000 senior power industry executives and decision makers from over 40 countries and Power Indaba, which is the two day executive forum for Ministers, Utility CEOs, investors and funders to find innovative funding solutions. This year, African Utility Week takes place in Durban from 22-26 February 2010 and the City of Durban will co-host the event with Eskom.
This media partnership with the South African utility is to enable Eskom to keep the industry updated on Eskom employees, new developments, tenders, objectives and messages. “This is not about high drama news, this is what the industry really needs to know in order to support Eskom with the future development of the South African Electricity sector’ says Nicholas McDiarmid, Editor of ESI Africa.
Together ESI Africa, Eskom and the all African power stakeholders need to work with the same goals, messages and objectives in order to propel development in the African power sector forward.
The next issue interviews Erica Johnson, the Chief Officer for customer networks at Eskom.
