Co-ordinated lightning current arrester

DEHNbloc M

DEHN’s co-ordinated lightning current arresters in the DEHNbloc M product family adapt themselves to every kind of application. Whether being used in an exposed position or in a rough industrial application, DEHNbloc M offers the correct solution.

DEHNbloc M devices use DEHN’s patented technologies of encapsulated creepage discharge spark gaps for extra protection and Radax-Flow for a high follow on current limitation. This arrangement also eliminates the risk of nuisance tripping of backup fuses resulting from the lack of selectivity between the protective device and any overcurrent protection systems that may be in place, resulting in the highest possible system availability.

The DEHNbloc M has visual fault indication by means of a mechanical flag and thus there is no need for power to see if the unit is functional. Units are also available with remote fault indication by means of a changeover contact.  The modules are pluggable and easy to replace with easy release buttons.

Dehnbloc M devices incorporate double terminals which are suitable for all types of conductors, allowing serial connection of the surge protection devices in a space- and cost-saving way, as preferred by IEC60364-5-53 for nominal currents up to 125 A.

The multifunction terminal is suitable for simultaneous connection of conductors and busbars, allowing an easy connection to other DIN rail mounted devices. The single-pole devices are originally coordinated with the approved DEHNguard surge arresters from DEHN’s Red/Line family.
