Angola addresses power supply through key projects

Angola’s National Electricity company, ENE have announced expansion programmes for generation and transmission of electricity as part of an ongoing Government initiative to increase and improve the quality of power in the country.

According to ENE CEO, José Carlos Neves these include construction and development of the 2 067MW Laúca dam, the 600MW Soyo Combined Cycle thermal plant and the rehabilitation and reinforcement of the Luanchimo Hydroelectric Station.

Other key projects are the construction of the 12MW Chumbe Dala Hydroelectric Station in northeastern Lunda Sul, the reinforcement of the Cambambe Dam in northern Kwasnza Norte province and the recent commissioning of 455MW of thermal energy across various cities in Angola.
