The ESI Africa Awards 2007 took place in Durban in October 2007 at the 60th annual AMEU conference held at the Durban International Conference Centre between the 15th and the 17th October.
Established in 2000, the awards seek to reward excellent service in the electricity supply industry within five categories:
- Best Equipment Supplier,
- Best Provider,
- Best Metering Company,
- Best Consultant and
- Personality of the year.
Independent surveyors approach engineers from municipalities, Eskom regional offices and big industrial users all around the country over a period of two months, asking them whom they consider the best company in a variety of categories.
The results are then collated and reviewed by the company auditor. The ESI Africa Excellence Awards provide the industry with an opportunity to reward good service.
This year, at the Gala event, AMEU President Mr. Sandile Maphamulo joined ESI Africa Publishing Editor, Nicholas McDiarmid to present the awards to the illustrious winners.
