19 August 2013 – Nigeria’s government says there are 386 companies on the short list for the purchase of 10 National Integrated Power Project  plants slated for privatisation.

A total of 46 consortia were shortlisted for the Bariam power plant; 44 for Benin; 42 for Omotosho; 41 for Egbema; 41 for Omoku; 39 for Geregu; 37 for the Calabar power plant; 36 for Ogwurode; 30 for Olaoje; and 30 for Olorunsogo.

Director-general, Bureau of Public Enterprises, Benjamin Dikki, says the next stage is for the selected groups to be informed and for them to embark on site inspection and speak with the stakeholders.
