African Utility Week: Africa’s energy influencers to receive prestigious awards

700 of Africa’s most distinguished power and water industry professionals will be attending the awards ceremony next week in Cape Town

In South Africa, Africa’s top movers and shakers in the energy industry will gather at African Utility Week in Cape Town next week to explore, identify and discuss the most pertinent issues surrounding the continent’s energy sector.

Organisers of the conference and exhibition have established an esteemed list of panelists to identify Africa’s most influential people and projects, which will be announced and awarded for their achievements at the Industry Awards gala dinner next week.

“These prestigious industry awards will welcome 700 of Africa’s most distinguished power and water industry professionals to recognise those that represent a benchmark of excellence for the industry,” the event organisers said in a statement.

Categories vary from Power Utility of the Year Award, Clean Energy Project of the Year to Municipality of the Year, which the City of Cape Town won last year. A new category this year is the Outstanding Woman in Power/Water Award.
