Kaela Siame is the Director of Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre based in Kafue Gorge on the same locality as Zambia’s 900MW Kafue Gorge Hydro power station.
He is member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) and a Registered practising engineer. After graduating from Leeds University with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1989, Siame worked as an Engineer for the Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines (ZCCM). He was involved with maintenance and installation of mining equipment.
He subsequently worked for a supplier of underground mining equipment (TAMROCK) in 1992 as Service Manager.
In the same year, he joined the Copperbelt University in Zambia, in the School of Technology and was involved in lecturing Mechanical Engineering courses. Siame is a 2000 graduate of Surrey University where he completed his Master of Science Degree.
Siame joined Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre as a lecturer in 2002 and subsequently appointed as Training Manager in 2004. He was appointed as Director in June 2007.
