Tanzania to build Rusumo-Nyakanazi Transmission line

The government of Tanzania has received financing from the African Development Bank (AfDB) in various currencies towards the cost of Regional Rusumo Falls Hydropower Transmission line component.

It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 220kV Rusumo-Nyakanazi Transmission line.

The Tanzania Electric Supply (TANESCO) as the procuring agency now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the execution of the works.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of:

A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above address and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $100.

The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Goods or Procurement of Works.


Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 10:00hrs East African Time (EAT) on 02 March, 2018 and must be accompanied by a security of $200,000 in the relevant format as indicated in the bidding document.
