Niger: Nigelec to accelerate solar electricity access

The government of the Republic of Niger has obtained Development Financing, part of which has been transferred to the Nigerian Electricity Company (Nigelec), to cover the cost of the Solar Electricity Access Project in Niger.

Government intends to use part of the fund to make payments under the following contract “Consultancy Services for Assistance to the Project Manager Solar HV Solar Hybridisation Work” isolated and the expansion of Access.”

Consulting services include the following:

  • Assistance and advice;
  • Supervision of the works, including the monitoring of the implementation of the ESMP;
  • Reception of the works.

Nigelec tender details

The managing director of Nigelec now invites eligible firms (consultants) to express their interest in providing the above written services.

Interested consultants must provide information demonstrating that they meet the required qualifications and relevant experience for the performance of the services.

Criteria for the establishment of the short list are:

  • Experiments in the field of super- hybridisation of thermal / PV power plants and
  • Assistance and advice in the field of building management.

Consortia may associate with other firms to strengthen their respective competences, but must clearly indicate whether the association takes the form of a joint venture and / or subcontracting.

In the case of a joint venture, all partners of the joint venture are jointly and severally liable for the entire contract if they are selected.

A consultant will be selected according to the full selection methodology based on Quality and Cost (SFQC) as received from consultants.

Interested consultants may obtain additional information at the below address and times: Monday to Thursday from 8:00am to 5:30pm and Friday from 08:00am to 13:00pm.
