KPLC seeks to deploy distribution management system

The Kenya Power & Lighting Company Limited (KPLC) is inviting sealed bids from eligible bidders for the design, supply, installation as well as commissioning of Phase 2 Nairobi distribution management system.

This follows after the government of Kenya received credit from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of the Kenya Electricity Modernization Project (KEMP).

It is intended that part of the proceeds will be applied to eligible payments under the contract.

Information on distribution management system

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers, published by the Bank in January 2011 (Revised July 2014) “Procurement Guidelines” and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines.

In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from KPLC and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 0900 to 1600 hours, Monday to Friday excluding public holidays.

A complete set of bidding documents in English may be downloaded without any fee by interested bidders at www.kplc.co.ke or purchased at the address below upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KES 1,000 ($9,676)or equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.

The method of payment will be cash or bankers cheque, payable at the Chief Accountant’s Office, KPLC, Stima Plaza, 1st Floor and receipt obtained.

Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before Tuesday 11 July 2017 at 10h00. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of not less than $150,000 on each lot or equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
