Kenya: gov to install AMI systems

The government of the Republic of Kenya has received credit from the International Development Association towards the cost of the Kenya Electricity Modernisation project.

It is intended that part of the proceeds be applied to eligible payments under the contract.

Procurement of Advanced Metering Infrastructure systems

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company Limited now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the design, supply, and installation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems to support revenue recovery and protection programmes.

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Ban k& Borrowers, published by the Bank in January 2011 (Revised July 2014) Procurement Guidelines).

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from The Kenya Power and Lighting Company Limited and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 09:00 to 16:00 hours, Monday to Friday excluding public holidays.

A complete set of bidding documents in English may be downloaded without any fee by interested bidders at www.kplc.co.ke or purchased at a non-refundable fee of KES 1000 ($10) or equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.

The method of payment will be cash or bankers cheque, payable at the Chief Accountant’s Office, KPLC, Stima Plaza, 1st Floor, and receipt obtained.

Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 3 April 2017 at 10:00 am,

All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of not less $380,000 or KES38,760,000 or equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
