The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) is inviting private sector parties to submit expressions of interest for participation in round two scaling solar Zambia, with total capacity of 600MW of utility scale solar PV.
Following the first successful tender for up to 100MW, round two will be for 150MW-250MW, with round three for the remaining 250MW-350MW to be announced shortly thereafter.
The government expects that in addition to individual companies, a consortia will be formed to respond to the anticipated tender. These companies and consortia would likely comprise of a mix of international, regional and local companies with expertise in developing utility scale solar PV.
Interested parties are invited to now submit a written expression of interest (EIO), to the email address listed, which must include:
A brief profile of their company/group
A listing of relevant present and past projects; and
The name and details for the contact person at the company
In return, responding parties will receive additional preliminary information and notification on the launch of the request for pre-qualification process.
Any interested party that may wish to participate in the procurement process for round two scaling solar Zambia are invited to submit a response to this EOI. However, submission of an EIO response is not compulsory and interested bidders who do not submit an EOI would still be eligible to submit a request for pre-qualification when that process is launched.
Interested parties are allowed to submit their expression of interest either in soft or hard copies.
Soft copy submission must be clearly labelled IDC/EOI/001/2017: Expression of Interest – Scaling Solar Zambia Project Round 2 and sent to the following email address:
Attention: Group Manager – Procurement & Supplies

Hard copy submissions must be appropriately bound, sealed in an envelope and clearly labelled IDC/EOI/001/2017: Expression of Interest – Scaling Solar Zambia Project Round 2 and deposited in the tender box situated at the reception area:

Closing date for both platforms of submissions is Friday 24 March 2017 at 10:30am local time.
