Guinea seeks to extend Conakry electricity grids

The Ministry of Energy and Hydraulics represented by the Electricity Company of Guinea, intends to prequalify contractors or companies for rehabilitation works and the extension of the Conakry electricity grids.

This follows after the government of Guinea obtained funding from the Islamic Development Bank to cover the cost of the Conakry Phase 2 Electrical Network Rehabilitation and Extension Project.

Conakry electricity grids – tender information

Electricity Company of Guinea intends to allocate part of the proceeds of this financing to payments relating to the works for the contract.

The works for lot 2 includes the following scope

  • Construction of MT / BT bay cabins
  • Construction of BT lines 146km
  • Construction of MT lines 31km
  • Installation of public lighting

Lot 4 includes:

• Supply and installation of 81,000 split meters

Prequalification will be conducted in accordance with the prequalification procedures specified in the Procurement Guidelines funded by the Islamic Development Bank, November 2006; it is open to all candidates from countries, as defined in the guidelines.

Eligible applicants may obtain further information and consult the prequalification document from the PREREC Project Implementation Unit from 09:00 am to 16:00 pm, local time.

Interested candidates may purchase a full set of the prequalification documents in French by making a written request to the address provided with the non-refundable payment of 2,000,000 GNF ($220).


Prequalification applications must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the address below on 31 July 2017 at 10:30am local time.
