In West Africa, the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and the government of Benin have signed a Millennium Challenge Account Compact (Compact) to support the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) funding agency of approximately $375 million. The MCA, referred to as the MCC Funding, will contribute to poverty reduction through economic growth in Benin.
The government, acting through the MCA-Benin II buyer, intends to apply a portion of the MCC Funding to eligible payments under the contract under this request for proposal.
Distribution project tender information
Under the electricity distribution development project, MCA-Benin II, and on behalf of the government, invites qualified, experienced and eligible consulting firms to submit proposals to provide services to the building and the rehabilitation of the electricity distribution network in Cotonou and some cities in the region. The services will also include the design, supervision and monitoring of the project.
The project comprises of energy programmes that have been divided into four categories, namely:
- Reforms Project Policy and Institutional Strengthening;
- Electricity Production Project;
- Electricity Distribution Project;
- Project Access to Electricity Out Network
The programme’s goal is to increase productivity and production of the company, generate more economic opportunities for households and improve the ability to provide public and social services by improving the quantity and quality supply of electricity.
As the preparatory meeting for the submission of proposals was held on 14thJune 14 2016 in Cotonou in at the MCA-Benin II, interested bidders are advised to contact the office for further information.
