The City of Cape Town, Electricity Generation and Distribution invites tenders for the design and building of mechanical and electrical works for Steenbras Pumped Storage Main Plant Refurbishment.

Bidders must be registered on Supplier Databases as described in the tender conditions.

Bidders who are not registered on the Supplier Databases are not precluded from submitting tenders, but must however be registered upon being requested to do so in writing and within the period contained in a request.

It is estimated that bidders should have CIDB contractor grading designation of 9ME or 9EP.

Preferences are offered to bidders who tender in accordance with the Preferential Procurement Regulations, 2017.

City of Cape Town tender documents

The physical address for collection of tender documents is:

Tender Distribution Office, 2nd Floor (Concourse Level), Civic Centre, 12 Hertzog Boulevard, Cape Town.

Documents may be collected during working hours between 08:30-15:00 from 06 October 2017.

A non-refundable tender fee of R500 ($37) payable by crossed cheque made out in favour of the City of Cape Town, is required on collection of the tender documents.

The closing date for receipt of tenders is at 10:00am on 15 January 2017.

Tenders may only be submitted on the tender documentation that has been issued.

Printed schedules of quantities, in the same format (that is, layout, scheduled items and quantities) as those issued electronically by the employer upon request, and may be submitted as stated in the Tender Data.
