The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) invites tenders for the replacement and vandal proofing of degraded signal cable at Merebank Station, in Durban.

It is estimated that interested bidders should have a cidb contractor grading of 5EP.

Preferences are offered to bidders who are suppliers with at least a level 4 B-BBEE certification.

Mandatory requirements

It is a mandatory requirement for prospective suppliers to be registered on the csd in all requests for procurement of goods and / or services.

Only bidders with a valid tax clearance certificate, bank code (letter from the bank), B-BBEE rating certificate: sanas accredited (original) or sworn affidavit, letter of good standing: coid (original), category 'c' green certificate, can apply.

Bidders must score a minimum of 70% for technical evaluation, which will then qualify for the evaluation stage.

Documents have been made available at the below address for collection during work hours after 08:00am from 02 October 2017. A non-refundable tender deposit of R3,000 ($219) payable by proof of deposit is required on collection of the tender documents.

Confirmation of EFT payment must be e-mailed to the senior buyer prior to collecting the documents.

Prasa will allow bidders to buy bid documents for three days following the date of the compulsory briefing session.

A compulsory clarification meeting with representatives of the employer will take place at the above mentioned address on 10 October 2017, at 11:00am.

The closing date for this tender is at 09:00am on 01 November 2017.
