The Tanzania Electric Supply Company Ltd (TANESCO) intends to pre-qualify contractors for construction of Medium Voltage (33kV) and Low Voltage (0.4kV) and installation of new distribution transformer substations and other associated works.
Contractors, who were pre-qualified before 2015, must apply regardless of their pre-qualification validity status.
Bidders are free to quote for all lots listed above. However, contractors whose pre-qualification status is still valid are only allowed to bid for Lot 3: Maintenance works using live line techniques.
Interested registered local electrical contractors in class 5 and above specialised in power lines construction are invited to apply for pre-qualification and may obtain further information, inspect the prequalification document at the office of the Secretary of the Tender Board, Room No. GO4,TANESCO Head Office, Umeme Park Building, Ubungo, along Morogoro Road, P.O. BOX 9024 Dar es Salaam from 09:00 to 16:00 hours, Mondays to Fridays.

A complete set of pre-qualification documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders upon submission of a written application to the above address and upon payment of a non -refundable fee of TZS50,000 ($22) through National Microlinance Bank (NMB) upon receipt of reference number from TANESCO.
All applications for prequalification in one (1) original plus three (3) copies should be submitted in sealed envelopes, clearly marked TENDER No. PA/001/2018-19/HQ/W/033 for Pre-qualification of Electrical Contractors for Lot 1: Construction Works on 33, 11 & 0.4kV Lines and Installation of New Distribution Transformer Substations, Lot 2: Maintenance of distribution networks using dead line techniques & Lot 3: Maintenance of distribution networks using live line techniques.
