The South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA) has announced its new Board of Governance, where Tebogo Movundlela, has been elected as the new Chair.

Movundlela will lead the association as it continues to pioneer the sustainable development of the Wind sector in South Africa.

“My vision is to help drive wind power to be the lead provider of clean, reliable and affordable energy in South Africa and for the industry to be a key player in inclusive socio-economic transformation and growth,” commented Movundlela.

She has been involved in the industry since 2013, as Chief Financial Officer of West Coast 1, a 94MW wind-powered facility. She now leads the team responsible for the ongoing operations and asset management of the facility, as Aurora Wind Power’s Chief Executive Officer. Read more: Wind industry responds to IRP update
