After seven days of scheduled supply interruptions, Dikgatlong Local Municipality in the Northern Cape Province, has not reached a payment agreement with state-owned power utility Eskom.

As a result, supply interruptions will be intensified from today, 5 June 2018.

Scheduled supply interruptions were implemented on 29 May 2018 due to Dikgatlong Local Municipality’s failure to honour its Eskom account for the bulk supply of electricity, the parastatal explained in a statement.
Consumers in Barkly West, Delportshoop and Longlands are affected by the interruptions.

The interruptions are effected based on the schedule below.  Week 2 times will be implemented from today, 5 June 2018.
If no agreement is reached by Monday, 10 June, a daily 14 hour interruption will be executed.  Read more: Eskom to proceed with interruption of bulk supply
