Our client, a reputable international organisation providing software solutions for electrical utilities, is looking for an ambitious, result-oriented Software Developer to join their talented enterprise team in South Africa.

The ideal candidate will have supreme technical skills as he/she will be responsible for understanding technical designs and application components in order to contribute to the software design and architecture.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for testing software components and systems and investigate defects and bugs in deployed systems.

Using C#, the candidate will write code that adheres to coding standards and processes. It is essential that the candidate can communicate on all levels as he/she will have to interact with customers and other team members.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering from a reputable tertiary institute
  • Expert understanding of SCADA protocols for Electrical Utilities, such as DNP3, MODBUS and SELFM
  • 4+ years of professional experience in software development
  • Relevant experience using C#, .NET, Microsoft technologies and Relational Databases
  • Previous experience with unit testing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Being a team player is non-negotiable
  • Ability to verbally communicate in more than one language is beneficial
