The global waste to energy market is growing at a significant pace due to rising demand for renewable sources of energy from the power and energy industry. 

This is according to a recent market study performed by The Insight Partners, ‘Waste to Energy Market‘.

The study highlights that the increase in the consumption of electricity due to the growth of the electronics markets is also likely to drive the demand for waste to energy market in the coming years. However, the high initial cost for setting up the processing plant may restrain the growth of the waste to energy market.

The in-depth analysis has been covered across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle-East and Africa, and South America.

Already we see the adoption of such systems in South Africa. In Cape Town, the N1 City Mall installed an anaerobic digester in 2019, which uses organic waste to produce green electricity, hot water and fertiliser.
