In North Africa, the New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (NREA), the Purchases Dept, has issued a request for prequalification applications from both domestic and international stakeholders for the development, construction and operation, under the private sector, of a 250MW wind power project in the west of the Nile Area.
The tender notice states that the project will fall under the BOO formula, under usufruct agreement with NREA, that project land ownership will be transferred to NREA without any constraints at the end of the project time.
Selected developers will design, finance, construct, own and operate the wind power farm. The generated power will be bought by the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company according to the conditions stipulated in the Power Purchase Agreement.
The tender notice emphasises that interested bidders should have previous experience in implementing three wind power plants with a minimum capacity of 50MW each.
Serious bidders are required to pay a fee of €2,000 ($2,225) when submitting their prequalification documents.
The fee is to be paid at the National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt from the 23 August 2015. The account details are as follows:
