What energy projects in East Africa that your company is currently involved in are you particularly excited about?

As part of Eaton’s growth agenda in Kenya and in the region, we are currently working with developers on several projects within the renewables energy sector. Our main focus in the renewables sector has been solar power plants, geothermal and small hydro power plants.

What are the main challenges of working in this region?

Like every other industry, the power industry has its own challenges. Eaton is committed to the development of innovative technologies necessary to increase efficiency of energy use per consumer in East Africa.

Any particular success stories you would like to share?

We worked with Original Equipment Manufacturers to deliver a 1MW Williamson tea solar project, which went live in record time, last year. Currently this is the only solar power plant of its magnitude that is live in Kenya.

What is your vision for the energy sector?

The Eaton vision is to provide energy-efficient solutions that help our customers effectively manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power more efficiently, safely and sustainably in East Africa.

Why did you decide to partner with EAPIC this year?

As a global player, Eaton is ready to build and nurture relationships across sectors for a better energy future in East Africa.

What will your message be at the event?

The message for this event is to reiterate our brand ethos as a global power management company providing leadership through the creation of solutions to East Africa’s power management challenges.
