In South Africa, the Govan Mbeki Local Municipality will endure power supply interruptions after failing to adhere to a repayment agreement.
State-owned power utility Eskom made this announcement yesterday noting that interruptions will commence on Monday, 21 May 2018.
Repayment Agreement, dishonoured
On 06 April, Eskom issued a notice suspending the scheduled interruption of power supply to the municipality subject to it honouring the terms of the agreed Repayment Agreement and Electricity Supply Agreement.

The contemplated interruptions, which will affect Bethal and Secunda Towns, as well as the eZakheni and eMbalenhle Townships, will result in scheduled power interruptions from 21 May to 4 June 2018 – until a remedy is met the utility stressed.
