South African state-run power utility, Eskom, has confirmed another group CE has been served with a suspension letter for allegedly receiving kickbacks.

Eskom’s Group Executive: Office of the Chief Executive, Abram Masango, has until Friday to explain why his suspension is not valid.

The act in question appeals to his previous position as Eskom Group Executive for Capital.

Eskom spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe says: “There has been some reports recently about him and three other officials who allegedly have received some kickbacks from Kusile project. So the management of this company is trying to establish the facts around this matter.”

Two other officials have also been given suspension letters, Phasiwe has confirmed.

eNCA poses questions to Phasiwe around the suspensions and getting to the bottom of “the rot”.
