On Wednesday, Kenya Power announced that its Prepaid System will be shut down for 14-hours to facilitate the implementation of the newly adjusted electricity tariffs.
The shut-off window commenced at midnight on 31 October, following the new tariff structure that was announced by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) earlier on Wednesday.
The utility advised that customers on the prepaid system will not be able to vend for electricity tokens during the shutdown which is expected to last for 14 hours until today – 1st November 2018, 14:00 pm.

Kenya Power is advising its customers who are currently low on their electricity units to purchase tokens before the shutdown.
