The government of Niger has received financing from the African Development Fund to cover the cost of the Nigeria-Niger-Benin-Burkina Faso regional electricity interconnection project.
The government intends to allocate part of the proceeds of this financing to payments related to the construction market for the 330 kV WAPP North Dorsal Power Line, approximately 104 km in Niger, between Gorou Banda and the Niger/Burkina Faso border.

The Project Management Unit (PMU) intends to prequalify contractors for single-lot work with the following main characteristics:
- High voltage electric power transmission line 330 kV in double dull;
- Freestanding metal lattice type pylons, double dull, having a vertical phase configuration with reinforced concrete foundations;
- Two phase-bundled conductors with composite insulator strings;
- Two guard cables including a GFCF (Optical Fibre Cable).
The invitations to tender are scheduled to be launched in December 2019.
Prequalification will be conducted in accordance with the pre-qualification procedures specified in the Procurement Framework for Operations Funded by the African Development Bank Group, October 2015 edition, which is available on the Bank’s website.
The tender is open to all bidders from countries that meet the criteria of source, as defined in the Bank’s Procurement Framework. Candidates can submit their application file alone or in a group.
