The government of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania has obtained funding from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) and intends to use part of it to cover the costs of the works and services of the project for the design, supply and installation of 225kV transmission lines between Nouakchott and Zouerate.

This lot concerns the realisation of:

  • The extension of the 225kV Nktt Central Duale substation;
  • The construction of the new Akjoujt 225/33kV substation and associated distribution stations;
  • The construction of the new Atar 225/33kV substation and associated distribution stations;
  • The construction of the new Zouerate 225/33kV substation .

Tender information

The Mauritanian Electricity Company (SOMELEC) is launching an open international tender for the above mentioned contract.

The SOMELEC Committee on Investment Markets invites eligible companies and groups of companies according to the purchasing procedures applied by AFESD and having the required qualifications to submit their technical and financial offers for the purpose of execution of works and services for the project.

Candidates interested in this call for tenders can obtain the tender dossier in French by making a written request to SOMELEC and the consultant at the addresses mentioned above, against a non-refundable payment by transfer of 120,000 MRU () , or the equivalent in a convertible currency, on one of the bank accounts of SOMELEC.

A mandatory site visit will be organised in the presence of all the candidates and the consultant before the date of submission of the bids.

Only the offers of the companies having attended this visit will be evaluated.
