Recruitment agency AltGen is looking for a Site Engineer who exhibits excellent leadership and analytical problem-solving skills under an umbrella of professionalism.

Description

With experience in the solar PV power plant industry, you will fit into this role, which requires you to have a good knowledge of the design and configuration of energy generating technologies and engineering design codes and standards.

This is an opportunity to lead a dynamic team of contractors working on-site at a solar PV IPP, having a real effect on the business, your team and the sustainability of our planet. Whilst your team of contractors will report directly to you, you will feed all reports into the firm’s head office.

Your core responsibilities will include overseeing the operations and maintenance of the plant, utilising your engineering skills throughout the project design, procurement and implementation phases. You will be well versed with contractual obligations, understanding which compliance requirements need to be met and ensuring that all associated parties are acting on their deliverables according to the contract specifications.

You will have a keen eye for detail, easily recognising any technical or legal issues and effectively mitigating potential risks as well as managing them as required. You will need to understand the root cause of risks and the ripple effect they result in for the operational and financial bottom line of a plant's operations if they are not seen to immediately.

To complement this, you will have excellent reporting and presentation skills, shown in your ability to compile technical reports, specifications and produce regular progress reports on the plant’s performance.

As an analytical and logical problem-solver, you should be able to identify performance issues and data anomalies with ease, using analysis methods which you will come to be extremely familiar with in this role. You will drive continuous improvement through identifying any deficiencies.

You will also be responsible for evaluating project costs and managing the plant's budget, whilst continuously ensuring high health and safety standards are adhered to throughout the construction phases as well as throughout day-to-day operations.
