In a recent poll, we asked you whether the renewable energy job market holds sufficient opportunities to support the need for jobs to reduce the unemployment rate?
The poll result reflects a positive attitude towards the impact that the renewables market can have on our growing unemployment rate.
85% said yes, 3% are of the opinion that this will never support reducing the unemployment rate, and 12% stated that it will but not right now – alluding to the need for supporting legislation.
Also, a comment from Youth in Energy identified the need for procurement in this market to favour SMMEs.
