This session covered a ‘Focused Conversation on the Developmental Impacts of REIPPPP – Research, Practice and Perspectives’.

Hosted by Africa Energy Forum (aef), along with Lekela Power and ESI Africa, the discussion unpacked the TENTRANS research project and delved into how successful the REIPPPP has been to date on engaging local communities and why.

The digital broadcast answered some of these questions:

Are IPPs engaging effectively enough with local stakeholders and communities?
Why is it important for project developers to think about social impact?
What lessons have been learnt for the next round?
What design principals are needed in policy to achieve success?
