Zanzibar Electricity Corporation to procure electricity meters

The Zanzibar Electricity Corporation intends to procure electricity meters for the financial year 2018/2019 under the contract for which this invitation is issued.

The Zanzibar Electricity Corporation now invites sealed bids from eligible manufacturers for the supply of electricity meters for the year 2018/2019.

Tendering will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding procedures specified in the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, No. 11 of 2016, and are open to all Manufacturers.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information at the office of the Zanzibar Electricity Corporation, Head Office Gulioni, first floor, room No. 25, Email: pmu@zeco.co.tz, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm local time on Monday to Friday except on public holidays.

A complete set of tendering document(s) in English and additional set if any may be purchased by interested Manufacturers upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Two Hundred Thousand Shillings TZS200,000 or $100.00. The Payment should be by cash or by telegraphic transfer.

Payment must be through the Bank – peoples Bank of Zanzibar Ltd, Branch: Forodhani, Zanzibar, swift: PBZATZTZ, A/C 022103000051 for USD and A/C 021103000560 for Tanzania Shillings.


All tenders must be accompanied by a tender security in an acceptable form of Bankers cheque or bank guarantee in the amount of 2% of its total bid price.

All tenders in one original plus two copies (2) properly filled in, and enclosed in a sealed plain envelope clearly marked TENDER NO SMZ/F0120/G/2018~2019/01 for Supply of Electricity Energy Meter must be physically submitted at Head office Gulioni, first floor, room number 37, at or before 2:00 pm on 9th November 2018.
