In South Africa, the Gauteng Department of Tourism is seeking Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor/s for the implementation of a turnkey solar photovoltaic (PV) energy system at Cape Town’s historical Robben Island Museum (RIM).
About Robben Island
Robben Island is a globally known prison-island, which housed Nelson Mandela for 18-years as a political prisoner during Apartheid. On release from prison, Mandela went on to become South Africa’s first democratically elected president.
Tender application process
The tender release date was delayed and is due for release today, 27 November 2015.
The compulsory bid briefing session will take place on 7 December 2015 at 09:00am at the Nelson Mandela Gateway in the V&A Waterfront—this date is weather dependent. Should the weather not prove favourable, the briefing will moved to 8 December 2015.
Potential EPC bidders that will be attending the mandatory site visit must register their intentions and details with the Department by not later than 4 December 2015, 16:00pm.
