Tender news: Mauritius CEB invites bids for supply of electricity from 15MW solar PV farms

Earlier this year, CEB was gearing up to release an Expression of Interest (EOI) highlighting the country’s need to integrate renewable energy resources into its energy mix.

Vice prime minister and Minister of energy and public utilities Ivan Leslie Collendavelloo said that CEB has implemented a strategy to increase generation capacity by 50MW in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

Obtaining tender information

Interested bidders may obtain further information from, and inspect the bidding documents at the office of the CEB’s Registry, Royal Road, Curepipe, Republic of Mauritius between working hours (9:00 to 15:30) Mauritian time.

A complete set of bidding documents (in English CD format) may be purchased for a non-refundable fee of MUR10,000 plus VAT (for local bidders) or USD$315 (for overseas bidders), through either telegraphic transfer directly to the CEB into the Bank Account (details below) or by cash or Bank Cheque issued by a local Bank operating in Mauritius. The fee shall be net of all bank charges.

Documents can be obtained from the registry of the CEB, Royal Road, Curepipe, Mauritius, between the working hours of 9:00 to 15:30.

Proof of payment must be sent to the Chairman Tender Committee on ctc@ceb.intnet.mu as soon as the money has been paid.

CEB will then provide a secure login and password for bidders to access the document from CEB’s website.

Submitting your tender

All applications must be addressed to the Chairman Tender Committee and clearly marked “OAB-CPR-3982- Supply of Electricity from Solar PV Farms of Capacity between 10-15 MWac (Inclusive)” in a sealed envelope.

The documents must either be delivered or sent by registered post or Courier Service to the address listed below on or before Tuesday 22 December 2015 at 10.00 hours (Mauritian time) at latest.

Central Electricity Board Royal Road Curepipe Republic of Mauritius Electronic bidding shall not be permitted.

Late bids will be rejected.
