Enel X has upgraded to a new electric vehicles charging app titled JuicePass from the X Recharge app.

The new app will allow customers of Enel X to charge both at home and at the office as well as access over 6,100 charging points across Europe.

The launch of the app follows a partnership signed with IONITY and SMATRICS for Enel X customers to charge their EVs across 18 countries in Europe.

The new app is set to be launched in Spain, Romania and the US.

The charging app allows EV drivers to:

  • Receive notifications when a new charging point has been activated within 100km of their locations
  • Rate their charging experience
  • Monitor charging performance in real-time
  • Activate profiles, reserve charging points as well as pay for services

The app is set to include new ancillary services offered by Enel and third parties.

Alberto Piglia, head of e-Mobility at Enel X, said: “Through our app, charging becomes a seamless and fully-digital experience, as users can access stations, charge and pay, all through JuicePass. Looking ahead, we will continue to work on the improvement of customer experience, also through further digitalisation and integration of charging networks, which are key to speeding up the global development of electric mobility.”

The company has plans to expand its European charging network to over 36,000 public points by 2022.
