Following Energy Minister Jeff Radebe’s decision to dismantle the entire board of directors of the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (NECSA), a new board has been appointed.
Radebe stated that the outgoing board had been responsible for financial mismanagement, remuneration irregularities and unauthorised international travel.

According to the Business Report, ENS Africa’s lawyer Douglas Molepo, will represent the axed board members in their court battle, which has been scheduled to be heard on 17 January 2019.
NECSA new board
Approved by Cabinet, the new board members consist of the following members:
Dr Robert Adam (Chairperson) – holds both public and private management experience at the highest levels as former DG & Group Executive in the nuclear sector.
Don Robertson, former managing director of Necsa subsidiary, NTP Radioisotopes, will serve as interim CEO for Necsa Group.
Other board members include:
Dr Ramatsemela Masango – qualified nuclear engineering specialist with experience on nuclear compliance assurance and nuclear licensing.
Pulane Molokwane – qualified nuclear physicist and a commissioner of the national planning commission.
Aadil Patel – labour law and human resource specialist.
Bishen Singh – an experienced finance executive with extensive experience in the research environment.
Pulane Kingston – corporate law specialist with a wide range of private sector experience.
Matlhodi Ngwenya – human resource specialist.
Jabulani Ndlovu – experienced corporate and human capital executive at the highest levels in the private sector.
