Expansion of operation in local market
19 April 2013 – “The investment in the new facility highlights our commitment to the Western Cape region. As more companies are steadily steering towards resource efficient buildings, our Milnerton facility serves as our commitment to the environment to lower our carbon footprint,” said recently appointed ABB CEO South Africa and Cluster Manager, Southern Africa, Leon Viljoen at the opening this week of the company’s new offices in Montague Park in Milnerton, Cape Town.

ABB, a leading power and automation company,
supplies mainly electricity utilities and industry and its five divisions include;
power products, power
systems, discrete
automation and motion,
low voltage products and process automation.

After the traditional
unveiling of the plaque and balloons ceremony, some 80 clients, suppliers and other guests were taken on a tour of the new state-of-the-art facility, which
forms part of an
environmentally sensitive park with all plants being indigenous to the area.

Says Leon Viljoen:  “the new ABB office was generally built in line with the energy efficient nature of our internationally acclaimed ABB brand and boasts some of the latest technology and energy saving concepts.”

Situated on over 10 000m2, the building is divided into an admin block and workshop facilities. The admin block houses all five the ABB divisions and the workshop facilities house a turbo charger workshop, a medium voltage services facility, and a low voltage/drives distribution centre.
